The last 4 months have been busy. Welcome to the world and welcome home to Australia – 9 newborn citizens to 8 intended parent couples, born in 4 countries – Mexico, USA, Canada, Greece. While all parents arrived home with their child without incident or delay it gave us an opportunity to compare the service given by different Australian Embassies and Consulates. In most cases, the person you deal with to obtain an Australian passport will be a local employee and if they are not accustomed to surrogacy cases there can be a misunderstanding of the procedures. Where it happened we were able to resolve the issues within 24 hours by contacting the Complex Child Application section in Canberra. More details will be given in the country specific posts about to follow.
